Every article published in a YourBBC eMagazine, eBook, or listed in its article catalogue, has been written and edited by a published business writer.
Mike is a co-owner of Your Better Business Content (YourBBC) and lead writer and editor. He has written nine print books, several eBooks, and thousands of business, travel and food articles for a variety of magazines. He has developed several entrepreneurial training programs for Human Resources Canada and other economic development offices and Chambers of Commerce across Canada. Mike has delivered training workshops internationally, and is an accomplished facilitator. His early career was spent in mainstream book publishing where he was a divisional head at Random House, London, U.K. Subsequently he was managing director and part-owner of a specialist publishing house before launching Blue Beetle Books – now trading as Your Better Business Content – in 2010. Mike is the consummate business writer; his sales and marketing column ran in Douglas magazine for ten-years.
For YourBBC, Mike writes articles for The Leading Edge; Business Essentials; and creates content for the company’s series of DYNAMIC Presentations.
Paul’s background in magazine publishing and writing is an asset to YourBBC. He has written for several magazines and contributes the monthly Coach’s Corner to YourBBC’s Leading Edge magazine.
Ingrid Vaughan, owner of Smart HR, has spent her career working with and for small businesses, in the last 10 years in an HR management capacity. She is a published business writer and has been published in Douglas Magazine, CPHR’s People Talk Magazine, as well as numerous online publications on human resource and small business topics. Ingrid has authored several books and training programs. She is currently VP of the board of her local Chamber of Commerce. Her company, SMARTHR supports small business owners and managers by building systems and processes that have their HR running smoothly and their teams engaged and contributing to business success.
David is an experienced creative and business writer. He has written articles for major British and French business magazines and his work has been featured in several leading graphic design magazines such as Eye and Creative Report.
David is also the author of the “What Does” series – a collection of short children’s stories, including “What Does a Doctor Do?” These books have been designed to help give young children the confidence to read out loud. The series has earned plaudits from teaching organizations across Canada, the U.K. and Australia. When not putting pen to paper, David spends his time working as a graphic designer for his communication and design studio – Morello.
Ken Stratford, who passed away in 2016, worked for many years as Vice-President of BC Ferries and BC Transit before becoming Commissioner of the Greater Victoria Economic Development Commission. He was an international speaker, futurist, and consultant to both the BC provincial government and the Canadian Federal government. His work has been published provincially, nationally and internationally. He either contributed to, or wrote a large number of articles in the YourBBC article library.
